Nearly a decade has passed since Reba McEntire ended her marriage with Narvel Blackstock, yet close sources claim that her wounds have not fully healed.

"The Voice" coach now harbors the belief that her former husband manipulated their relationship for financial gain.

In 1989, Reba married Blackstock, and their marriage lasted until 2015. They have a daughter, named Shelby Blackstock.

Reflecting on her marriage to the music mogul, the country music artist openly discussed their relationship on a segment of The Drew Barrymore Show that aired in early March.

"I think it works for some people," she revealed. "They can be married or have a relationship and work together. Our work was all the time."

"It was always business," the "I'm A Survivor" hitmaker said. "Whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, it was business."

Even amid their romantic getaways, Narvel seemed to have business on the brain.

According to 68-year-old singer, even as they sought to unwind and rejuvenate on vacations, thoughts of work would inevitably creep in after about three days. "It was like clockwork," Reba reminisced.

Reba McEntire enlisted Blackstock to join her touring band as a steel guitar player in 1980.

Following that, in 2021, Blake Shelton, the last star client of Reba's former husband, arrived on the scene.

According to a source who revealed in the National Enquirer, Reba expressed her reluctance to accept the idea that Narvel may have perceived her as less rich after she reached the age of 60, leading to his decision to end the marriage.
