Kat Graham was cast in the star-studded upcoming biopic film of Michael Jackson called "Michael."

The former Vampire Diaries star is stepping into big shoes as she is expected to crush the role of living legend Diana Ross on the big screen.

Variety reported the recent new casting choices for the upcoming "Michael" film. Graham will play Diana Ross, the lead singer of The Supremes at the time. She became Jackson's love interest and remained a lifelong influence on the late King of Pop.

Graham shared the announcement on Instagram, celebrating her biggest screen role to date.

"Grateful to play the legendary Diana Ross... directed by the great @AntoineFuqua. I can't wait for everyone to see this film and the brilliant performances in it. Thank you Graham King, Vickie Thomas and Mr. Fuqua for allowing me the privilege of supporting the retelling of such a pivotal era in our music history," she shared.

Meanwhile, people on Reddit are raving about the announcement. Some even suggest that Graham could be a strong contender for an Oscar nomination if she crushes the role.

"I hope the movie makes a billion dollars and she gets a big fat check and Oscar buzz for her role, she deserves it!!!!" one said.

"Love that for her so much. This will more than likely be an Oscar contender so.. Future Oscar nominee Kat Graham," another echoed.

'Michael' Cast Revealed

Apart from Kat Graham, other actors have been announced to fill in the enormous cast for "Michael." (via Entertainment Tonight)

Larenz Tate was cast as Motown Founder Berry Gordy, Jessica Sula as La Toya Jackson, Liv Symone as Gladys Knight, Kevin Shinick as Dick Clark, Keilyn Durrel Jones as Bill Bray, and Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones.

"Michael" has also cast Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson while Muni Long as the matriarch Katherine Jackson. Jafaar Jackson, Michael Jackson's nephew, was cast to play the late King of Pop.
