'90s hitmaker Montell Jordan has reemerged with the announcement that he and his wife of 20 years, Kristin, are staging "This Is How We Date Night," a '90s-themed dance party for couples on April 12 at the Ponce City Market's Rooftop Terrance in Atlanta.

The name of the event is a play on the title of Jordan's cart-topping 1995 jam "This Is How We Do It." A post on Instagram promoting the event advises fans to "grab your Adidas sneakers and your Kangol hat and join us."

Since his mid-'90s success, Jordan became a born-again Christian and a pastor. At one point, he announced that he was told by God to quit the music industry, but Jordan will be staging a "special performance" at the April 12 event, which will also feature music by DJ Tony Tone.

According to an announcement about the Atlanta event, Kristin once served as his manager, but the pair ultimately "chose marriage over music, faith over fame, and significance over success." The pair's ministry focuses on marital counseling and life coaching. In addition, the couple co-authored the 2017 book titled - you guessed it - This Is How We Do It! Make Your Marriage a Masterpiece. They have four children.

Jordan recently officiated the wedding of his pal and fellow '90s hitmaker Young MC. According to TMZ, the wedding took place in Scottsdale, Ariz. During the ceremony in which the "Bust a Move" rapper wed his longtime girlfriend Chatal, Jordan reportedly threw in a "This Is How We Do It" reference.

The singer has also spent the last few years appearing on various reality TV shows. Last year, he appeared on the show Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, but he was eliminated during the second episode, after injuring his thumb.

In 2022, Jordan was unmasked as the Panther on season eight of The Masked Singer. Two years earlier, he appeared on American Idol to perform "This Is How We Do It" on that season's finale.
