An A-list Hollywood director "would give anything" for Taylor Swift to endorse Joe Biden as president.

Rob Reiner, known for helming features like The Princess Bride and Misery, is pleading for the pop mega-star to support Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential race.

"I'm in the midst of shooting a sequel to This is Spinal Tap. As much as I'd like Taylor Swift to do a cameo in the film, I'd give anything for her to endorse Joe Biden. She would virtually single handedly save American Democracy," Reiner posted on X.

The public request received a surge of responses from both sides of the aisle, garnering a wide range of responses from Reiner's X followers. A notable reply came from Star Wars alum Mark Hamil, who seemed confident that Swift would stand by Biden this year after her 2020 endorsement.

"She endorsed Biden in 2020 & will undoubtedly do so again," Hamil said.

Earlier this year, Swift urged her 282 million Instagram followers to take to the polls and vote on Super Tuesday. However, she did not endorse a specific candidate or party on the Instagram story.

"Today, March 5, is the Presidential Primary in Tennessee and 16 other states and territories. I wanted to remind you guys to vote the people who most represent YOU into power," she said. "If you haven't already, make a plan to vote today."

The "Cruel Summer" singer also shared a short Instagram post last year, urging her followers to register to vote on Vote.org. The post reportedly led to 35,000 registrations.

In 2020, Swift spoke to V Magazine ahead of the presidential election and firmly stated that she endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for office.

"I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs."

Also taking to Instagram to share a photo of herself with Biden/Harris-decorated cookies, Swift continued to justify her reasoning for the endorsement.

"The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included."

Joe Biden responded to the Instagram post, stating: "Thanks for your support and for speaking out at this crucial moment in our nation's history." He went on to use lyrics from Swift's "Ready For It?" Reputation single as he reposted the photo.

With over three million fans seeing Swift's Eras Tour throughout the US and 11.5 million attending the filmed capture of the concert in movie theaters, Swift's impact is clearly undeniable.

As the 2024 Presidential election is set to take place on Nov. 5, it remains to be seen if Swift will throw her support behind any candidate.
