Drew Barrymore and Jessica Capshaw shared their experiences of being once close to Taylor Swift until their communications with the pop star ceased.

Did Swift change?

Or has she just become too busy?

Jessica Capshaw Used to Text Taylor Swift

Capshaw disclosed that once upon a time, she was texting pals with the singer.

On the April 4 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the Grey's Anatomy actress talked candidly about her relationship with the Grammy Award-winning musician and said they were very close.

Not that they are no longer friends now, but the level of closeness and the frequency of their interactions just dwindled.

The 47-year-old Capshaw, who played Arizona Robbins on the venerable television program Grey's Anatomy, reflected on their first meeting.

She said Swift spotted her in a crowded room, and while Capshaw did not expect her to come over, the singer just approached her and told her she was a fan of her work as a "protagonist," which shocked her.

After a few years, they met again in a restaurant, leading to an impromptu gathering. "I invited her to come sit with us. And she did. And then we sat and talked for like an hour and a half. It probably was 45 minutes. It was an hour and a half!" Capshaw recounted, noting how enjoyable it was to talk to the singer.

From then on, Swift became her text buddy - the kind who she could send random, funny things to.

Capshaw revealed that she even sent videos of her son enjoying Swift's music, and the singer would respond. "My babies were singing 'Shake it Off' in the bathtub and I would send her videos and she would respond," she said.

However, all good things must come to an end. She shared that suddenly, Swift is no longer reachable because she might have changed her number.

"We went to the 1989 tour and then I think she changed her number," the actress forlornly shared.

Drew Barrymore Intimidated by Taylor Swift's Success?

Barrymore has a similar tale to share. She said she and Swift once worked together, so there were interactions. However, on her part, she and Swift lost touch not because the latter changed her number but because she felt she could no longer talk with the star.

"I used to be a CoverGirl with her. I used to text with her. I know this person and yet she's become so big and such a phenomenon that I didn't say hello," the TV show host admitted.

This is not to say the actress host is not a fan of the star.

Just last year, Barrymore said Swift is "the role model all of us girls and women need."

According to her Taylor Swift's music just hits different. Barrymore expressed her admiration for the singer in an Instagram post, after attending her Eras Tour in New Jersey back in May 2023.
