John Lennon and Yoko Ono are two of music's most influential power couples. While Beatles fans have frowned upon their relationship, many seemed to have expressed a liking for the two's dynamics.

Now, a new book claimed that Ono seemed to be the first person who allegedly introduced Lennon to heroin.

Yoko Ono Told John Lennon How To Take Heroin

In an excerpt shared to The Sunday Times of the new book titled "All You Need is Love," it was claimed that Ono had reportedly advised Lennon on how to take heroin.

The new riveting book retold Ono's previous interview with Peter Brown and Steven Gaines. In the book, Ono reportedly said that she had "advised Lennon on how to take heroin" but denied that she was the one who "put John on H," as opposed to George Harrison's claim that she was the one who did it.

The female singer recalled to the interview that she first "had a sniff of" heroin in Paris and that she had experienced a "beautiful feeling," and did not even get sick from it.

Having that "beautiful feeling," she told Lennon about it, which made him interested. Ono remembered that Lennon kept asking her about his experience of using the drug. In the end, Ono thought Lennon "wanted to take it" because he kept asking. The interview also echoed their numerous admission in the past that they "never injected" the drug.

In 1968, Lennon picked up a heroin addiction, and he took a 3-day detox to flush the drug off his system. He then wrote the song "Cold Turkey" to explain his addiction, but the song was banned. (via She Knows)

"Cold Turkey was banned. They thought it was a pro-drugs song. But I've always expressed what I've been feeling or thinking at the time. So I was just writing the experience I'd had of withdrawing from heroin," Lennon said at the time to BBC Radio. (via Song Facts)

'All You Need is Love' Book

People reports that "All You Need is Love" contained transcripts from interviews gathered by The Beatles' inner circle, Brown and Gaines. They first interviewed the group in 1983 for the book "The Love You Make."

However, Paul and Linda McCartney reportedly "tore the book apart and burned it in the fireplace, page by page."
