Nothing says "let's remember one of rock's most legendary figures" like anniversary-related alcohol.

So, on the 40th anniversary of Queen's "Killer Queen" release, the band has decided to partner with RnR Brew and push a new Freddie Mercury-themed bottle of vodka named after their multiplatinum single.

From a release (via Fame):

Killer Queen vodka is produced in batches from the highest quality GMO free unadulterated EU wheat. The vodka is "well versed in etiquette", seven times distilled using an ancient original vodka filtration process of quartz sand and birch charcoal with a unique filtration process at the final stage.

The water in Killer Queen vodka has been taken from a 600ft historical artisan well at source, which gives Killer Queen vodka its exquisite smooth original taste and is "guaranteed to blow your mind, anytime."

Excellent. Apparently Queen guitarist Brian May took a recent trip to the Stoli vodka production plant in Latvia and decided the place was like "the Willy Wonka chocolate factory for adults." He went on to speak of Mercury's love for the drank.

"Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour," May said. "Killer Queen Vodka is the perfect tribute to Freddie and using Killer Queen as the brand name was the perfect choice for us, and we know Freddie would have approved."

There's currently a site up for KQ Vodka, but it doesn't seem to be at total functioning capacity. If you still feel like taking it for a spin, go right on ahead.

Here's a nice picture of the beverage:
