The funky bass line on Jennifer Hudson's new single "He Ain't Going Nowhere" is a dead giveaway that Pharrell Williams was involved, but the track also surprisingly hosts rapper Iggy Azalea for a verse.

Buzzfeed debuted the track, which will be included on Hudson's upcoming Sept. 26 release JHUD via RCA. The song is certainly a departure from the singer's previous work, 2011's I Remember Me and 2008's self-titled debut. Genres like disco, pop, dance and funk clash pretty hard during the performance before Azalea chimes in with a Lil' Kim-esque verse.

"I hope it's a song people can listen to and let the music do what it's meant: let go of the shit that holds you back and just take a minute to dance and feel good," Hudson told Buzzfeed. "It's that perfect mix of glamorous, late-night style, dance music from the past that has always really hit me deep."

Hudson went on to explain how her and producer Pharrell made the tune, which she considers to be "one of the centerpieces of my album." "We really worked to keep the sound relatable but the way the bass hits your chest and the guitar licks sort of tingle your ear really work well to transport you to a time in music history I just live for," she said. "It's the sort of track you can't listen to without moving and the fact that we were able to have Iggy join in on it was just what it needed."

The singer's last album, which peaked at number 2 on Billboard's Top 200, highlighted Hudson's vocal range and soul influences.
