Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won't be attending the 2024 Met Gala to make their grand red carpet debut, according to a report.

The report followed anticipation and speculation from fans, who were hopeful that the power couple might finally make their red-carpet debut at the prestigious Met Gala, the biggest fashion and art event of the year.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Not Attending the MET Gala

TMZ report reveals that Kelce and Swift, despite being individually invited to the exclusive Met Gala, have decided to decline the invitations.

The pop star and the Chiefs' tight end allegedly RSVP'd "no" to the all-star gathering at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York scheduled for May 6.

Swift's absence from the event could be explained by her upcoming return to The Eras Tour. According to the official tour schedule of Swift for The Eras Tour, she's not due to perform at the Nanterre, France's Paris La Défense Arena until May 9, but that date and the Met Gala fall on the same week, which would make for some difficult travel.

Swift will perform in Paris from May 9 through 11.

Kelce's reason for absence at the gathering was unclear, but the outlet reported that he might be "ducking" out because Swift won't be there.

Taylor Swift at the Met Gala

Swift has attended seven Met Galas in the past. She got invited in 2008 for the theme "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy." At the time, she wore a slinky gown from Badgley Mischka.

She returned in 2010 for the "American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity" gala, wearing a shoulder dress from Ralph Lauren.

In 2011, she embraced more of her mature side when she attended the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" theme with her beige, brown, and black J. Mendel gown. She wore another J. Mendel Gown 2013 to channel "PUNK: Chaos To Couture."

Swift then embraced soft tones in 2014 for the "Charles James: Beyond Fashion"-themed MET Gala with an Oscar de la Renta dress.

Finally, in 2016, she co-chaired the Met Gala and sported a custom Louis Vuitton outfit, embracing the "Manus x Machina" theme.

As for Kelce, this was the first time he was reportedly invited to the Met Gala.

Vogue reports that the 2024 Met Gala will celebrate the Costume Institute's new exhibition, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," with the official dress code "The Garden of Time." Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth will host the annual gala this year.
