Cardi B is under fire for forgetting the name of her Met Gala designer, instead just referring to them as "Asian and everything" in an awkward video.

While doing interviews on the red carpet at this year's event, the Grammy-winner was asked about who designed her look. The answer is Windowsen's Sensen Lii, but the name did not come to her at the moment.

"I feel amazing. It's this amazing designer, they're Asian and everything. So yeah," the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker said on the carpet.

The slip up is now gaining traction on social media, with many calling the rapper out for not remembering the name of the designer.

"Cardi B not remembering the designer who spent 3 months making her Met Gala dress and just referring to him as 'Asian' is just sad and disrespectful," one X, formerly Twitter, user wrote.

The comment was even addressed by Vogue representative Gilbert Cheah, who called the rapper out for being misinformed about her designer of choice.

"For the record and recognition, and no thanks to Cardi B, the designer of her gown is Sensen Lii, who's Chinese. The gown took two months to make," they stated. "I personally think it's boring and not even on theme but she chose it and should have at least remembered his name and not just that he's 'Asian.'"

"This actually hurts to see knowing the amount of time these designers spend on making these custom fits," another user shared.

Others came to Cardi B's defense, sharing that it could have just slipped her mind amid the high-pressure environment of the carpet and did not want to "butcher" the name.

"It's not the end of the world. Like damn, she's human. She's allowed to not remember things. She wasn't disrespectful with her answer. At least she didn't guess his race," another user shared.

While many continued flocking to social media to criticize the "WAP" songstress, she posted another Instagram story to thank the designers for working with her, correctly naming them and tagging their accounts.

"I have to give another thank you to Windowsen," she posted on her Instagram story. "I chose you because of your amazing talent and you came through really making this Met Gala a night to remember."

There seems to be no bad blood between the pair, as Windowsen reposted the story, thanking her and adding a red heart.

The mistake was not the only Cardi B moment that had social media talking. When her longtime rival, Nicki Minaj, walked the carpet, a paparazzo mistakenly called her "Cardi." While the Pink Friday 2 singer did not seem to pick up on the flub, the photographer went on to note that "he'll get mad if I call her Cardi."

He went on to praise Minaj, saying that she "did better than Cardi," although the "I Like It" musician had not even arrived on the red carpet yet.
