Jelly Roll's father-in-law, Bill, has passed away.

His wife, Bunnie Xo, took to social media to share the news of her father's death. He had passed away after a battle with cancer.

After receiving a Stage 4 diagnosis late last summer, he had begun living with the couple. He was put into hospice in November. However, things had been looking up since then as he made a strong amount of progress.

For the first year of battling cancer, Bill had allegedly been treating it holistically. While he originally received aid from his wife before she passed away in November. After losing her, he began leaning on Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll when things began to take a turn for the worse, Taste of Country reports.

Following his wife's death, the country singer and his wife moved him from Texas to Nashville so he could live with them.

In February, he successfully underwent hip replacement surgery. Bunnie Xo jokingly referred to him as "Bionic Bill" as he began to regain the ability to walk.

The podcaster shared the news of her father's passing on Instagram, sharing a selection of photos from her upbringing, along with thoughtful memories of him. He seemed to have been a musician himself, as he is pictured performing with a guitar several times throughout the post.

"Hey Bill, I'm going to miss you," she captioned the post. "You are still my favorite rock star & my hero. This one's going to hurt. Rest easy & don't make too many angels fall in love."

Jelly Roll has not yet publicly addressed the loss on his social media.

The death appears to be somewhat sudden as Jelly Roll had been celebrating his recent weight loss by triumphantly running a marathon earlier this week. Revealing that he was down "probably down 70-something pounds," the 39-year-old ran a 5K at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The singer says that "health is wealth" as he discussed the importance of prioritizing your wellness, while also revealing that he enjoyed the process of the marathon more than he thought he would.

"I would've done way more 5Ks if I knew people tailgated in the parking lot and ate hot dogs and drank beer before. This has been the coolest experience ever. I felt like I was coming to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert," he revealed.

Bunnie Xo has her own podcast, Dumb Blonde. New episodes release every Wednesday and while one was released yesterday, it was seemingly a pre-recorded interview with Hollywood medium Tyler Henry. It did not include any information or comments about her father's death.
