On May 7, country star Jelly Roll completed the 2 Bears 5K, organized by Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura, who host a comedy podcast of the same name. The race was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

Jelly Roll has been training for the event for months. In April, he announced that he was "probably down 70-something pounds."

"I've been really kicking ass, man," he said at the time. To prepare for the race, he ran two to three miles a day for four to six days a week. He also did 20-30 minute sauna sessions and "six minutes in a cold plunge everyday."

His hard work paid off as Jelly Roll successfully completed the 5K race on Tuesday. He admitted that it was a "little bit harder" than he anticipated, but that experience was "awesome.

In a post-race interview with TMZ, Jelly Roll said that he was feeling "incredible."

"I feel almost emotional, man, it was crazy. Man, I lost a little bit of weight trying to do this...I feel great, I feel really, really good," he said with a smile. "I truly have lost like 70 pounds getting ready for this. I've been training a few days a week pretty hard. It was still rough. It was cool though," continued Jelly Roll.

He added that Kreischer and Segura know how to throw a party, noting that the two "will entice you" with "cold plunges, saunas and vodka."

"I would've done way more 5Ks if I knew people tailgated in the parking lot and ate hot dogs and drank beer before. This has been the coolest experience ever. I felt like I was coming to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert," Jelly Roll joked.

The singer continued, saying that he feels "really good" now that he is prioritizing his physical and mental health.

"It's funny, in life we think money will solve all our problems. And then God blessed me with some of it and I realized it didn't solve 'em. I realized health is wealth," he said.

He also praised the "comradery" of the event. "People stopped and hugged you, and loved on you along the way, and just encouraged each other," he said. He called the experience a "really, really cool vibe."

"Based on this, I'll do another one for sure," Jelly Roll concluded.

Jelly Roll told People that he is planning to lose "another 100, 100-and-something [pounds]" as he continues his fitness journey.

"If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I'm going to feel like by the time I go on tour," he said.

Jelly Roll is heading out on his The Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27. He will be accompanied by Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay as he treks across the United States. Until then, Jelly Roll will be playing a variety of festivals and joining Morgan Wallen at a few stops on his One Night at a Time tour.
