It's been a big year for Pharrell Williams, without a doubt. Music Times wrangled a few less-Earth-shaking headlines regarding the performer from yesterday that might pique your interest as well:

Williams himself will be in the video game NBA 2K15

We already knew that the R&B star would be curating the soundtrack to the hit athletic series (including drafting Shaq back into the hip-hop game). What we found out Wednesday from Billboard is that the performer will be an in-game character as well.

We're not sure quite how it's going to work but apparently the game features a "face-scan" technology that allows players to put their own mugs on, we assume, customized basketball players. Perhaps Williams sits ringside for games and will, like Drake, get overly involved in gameplay and run on the court to give you a high five. Either way, the likeness of the star is pretty dead on, including the big dumb hat.

Flying Lotus says Williams turned him down for a guest spot because...what?!?

Lotus is one of the big drowns in alternative hip-hop/hip-hop in general right now and his new album You're Dead has the guest list to prove it: Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and—best of all—Herbie Hancock will all make appearances.

One name not included is Williams, although he was invited. Apparently the producer was a tad paranoid about the album's dark theme.

"Pharrell wanted to contribute too," Lotus told NME. "But he had issues with the kind of songs to write. He didn't wanna make a self-fulfilling prophecy... he didn't wanna write a song about death and then die the next day... and I totally respect that."

Kind of makes sense for a guy who just made like a billion dollars off of a song called "Happy."
