There's a new trailer for the upcoming Lifetime Aaliyah biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, and unlike the last silent teaser, this one features some music and a snippet of acting performances... but none of it has to do with Aaliyah herself. The new, short trailer actually features a song snippet from Iggy Azalea.

The roughly 30-second trailer features the first bit of acting that we've seen from the movie, though the star, Alexandra Shipp, stays in listening and dancing mode. Instead, we hear from Aaliyah's "mother" and a producer.

"It take more than some hot producer to create a superstar, it takes the right artist," mama Haughton (Rachel Crawford) says as Shipp looks on.

In the meanwhile, there are more clips of the Aaliyah character dancing and performer, all while trying to break into the industry and climb to the top of the charts.

The trailer also features some music, though it's notably not from Aaliyah herself. Instead, producers shot for Iggy Azalea's The New Classic track "Goddess" to accompany the trailer, likely because they were unable to secure the actual rights to the late Aaliyah's music (her family has been notably negative toward this project).

Regardless of the bumps and flaws, watch the latest trailer for Aaliyah: Princess of R&B below, via E! News:

Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will premiere on Lifetime on Nov. 15.

The film has been full of controversy since its inception, with Aaliyah's family fighting the production, feeling like a made-for-TV movie was not tribute enough for their daughter. The film's original star, Zendaya, also dropped out of the production over the film's quality.
