It's been four years since Glenn Danzig and his band released an album, but the singer said that a new record will be out by this time next year.

While talking with Examiner.com before his appearance at Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin this weekend, the former Misfits frontman detailed his plans to release new music in 2015. The follow-up album of original material to 2010's Deth Red Sabaoth will be out next fall, but in March, Danzig said his long-awaited album of covers will hit retailers. He's even working on an EP of strictly Elvis Presley remakes titled Danzig Sings Elvis

"I'm pretty lucky in that a long time ago I started my own label," the singer said.  "So I can just put out stuff when I want as long as I have a good distributor and no one can kick me off my own label! So I make sure that it sounds like what people expect Danzig to sound like and hopefully they'll like the product when it comes out. That's really all that I do."

According to Blabbermouth, the "Thirteen" singer already gave fans a taste of his covers album that's due in March when he released his duet with Cherie Currie of The Runaways on "Some Velvet Morning." The tune was originally done by Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra. Other expected covers include songs by Black Sabbath and ZZ Top

Danzig will play Slipknot's Knotfest on Saturday (Oct. 25) before his Housecore appearance on Sunday. His only other scheduled dates are with his post-Misfits hardcore project Samhain

Ryan Adams and Johnny Depp paid tribute to the singer last month, performing his classic 1988 tune "Mother."
