Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist and vocalist Nick Oliveri was dismissed from the band in 2004 and has since only joined the group live for one song in April. On Friday, Oct. 31, Oliveri played a a handful of songs during an encore with Queens at the group's Halloween show in Los Angeles.

As promised last month, Oliveri, Josh Homme and the rest of the band joined forces on tunes that have not been played in a decade, Consequence of Sound reported. Oliveri took vocal duties on three songs from 2002's Songs for the Deaf, including "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, but I Feel Like a Millionaire," "Gonna Leave You" and "Another Love Song." The band also did two cuts from 2000's Rated R"Quick and to the Pointless" and "Auto Pilot."

It seems as though the more time that passes, there is a better chance at a full-blown reunion with the band and Oliveri. The bassist contributed background vocals to "If I Had a Tail" from the band's last album ... Like Clockwork. In April, Oliveri joined Queens onstage for "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar" at a show in Portland where his current band, Moistboyz, opened. Oliveri's new band, Uncontrollable, was the opener for the Halloween gig as well.

"Josh asked me to come up and do six songs with Queens, like an encore set," Oliveri said in September. "A reunion, but not a reunion. I'm going to get up and play some bass and sing some songs at the end of the show. It should be an interesting night."

"That's pretty much up to Josh," he added about a possible reunion. "It's his band, and when he pulls the trigger on something, it's up to him. I put myself out there a few different times in the past 10 years at Queens shows. I'd go and see them play and say, 'Hey man, I'm here! Do you want me to sing a song?' I stopped asking him after a while, and then he asked me! It's pretty much just when he wants to do something, these days. It's not up to me, is what I'm saying."
