Harry Styles, being the teen heartthrob that he is, often has his sexuality and his relationships scrutinized by the media and even his fans. He's dated the likes of Cara Delevigne, Taylor Swift, and Kendall Jenner, but in a new interview with On Demand Entertainment, the One Direction singer playfully confirms that gender isn't a deciding factor in his romantic endeavors.

Styles and bandmate Liam Payne sat down with Lucy Jones to answer questions from his Twitter followers in a game called "Fourplay," in reference to their upcoming album Four. When asked what "four favorite traits you look for in a girl?" Payne was quick to say "female, it's a good trait." Styles, on the other hand, added that it was "not that important." He went on to describe other traits he looks for in a partner such as a good sense of humor and a kind disposition.

Now let's be honest. His followers may have been looking a little too far into this vague comment, but it is possible that he did mean a person doesn't necessarily have to be a women to get his attention. So could Styles, perhaps, be bisexual?

He has addressed the topic of his sexuality before, most recently in an interview with British GQ saying he "didn't think" he was bisexual when asked about his close relationship with British radio host Nick Grimshaw, who came out as gay in 2012.

"Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not," he said when confirming that he and Grimshaw were just friends.

We can only assume Styles is telling the truth about his sexuality considering how supportive he is of the LGBT community. Back in August, Styles sported a Michael Sam Rams jersey (before he was released from the team) on stage at his concert in St. Louis.

Sorry guys, looks like you'll have to turn to the gay Harry Styles fan fiction for now.

One Direction's upcoming album Four is due out Nov. 17.
