In case you haven't noticed, Jennifer Aniston has really been hustling lately. She has been popping up everywhere, and on Saturday night she even hit up the red carpet with Justin Theroux. While the couple has been engaged for well over two years, they are rarely ever seen together in public. So attending the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 2014 Governors Awards in Hollywood is kind of a big deal.
Aniston stunned in a black lace dress with sheer panels and her main reason for attendance probably has a lot to do with her upcoming role in Cake, a film that is already generating tons of Oscar buzz. In it, Aniston portrays a depressed woman, reeling from personal tragedy that is knee-deep in addiction. It is rumored to be Aniston's best performance ever, so this year she has decided that it's to her advantage to attend all sorts of industry events with the hope that it'll increase her odds of grabbing an Oscar nomination.
It's interesting to see that even Theroux has been included in her self-promotion. The couple and the status of their romance has fed the rumor mill for over a year now. They've gone from being inseparable to living on opposite coasts and appearing to spend even most holidays apart. That has led to a lot of speculation on a split rather than the expected trip down the aisle. However, as of now it seems that Aniston and Theroux are very much together and the wedding is still on.
