Even when the mistake was realized and the season was pulled some lucky viewers were able to continue watching. Was this brief leak an honest mistake, or was it a brilliant publicity move?

Not to sound too 'woo woo,' but I think the self-love piece was really important. And spending a lot of time alone. Having time to ask myself why there was such toxicity in my immediate space at times. Why would I attract that instead of light?" explains Aniston.

Earlier this week, Aniston sat for a Lincoln Center screening of the flick and then attended a Q&A session afterword with costar Anna Kendrick. The ladies took a bunch of questions and Kendrick admitted that the fact that Aniston was producing and acting in "Cake" played a major part in her deciding to do the film. It likely will not be the last time Aniston has more say in her films, either. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," Aniston has only just begun to get her feet wet in the role of producing and it is a process that excites her, possibly more than acting. "That's a bug that gets you once you do it. We're just waiting for the proper window of time and the proper piece of material. There has been a beautiful project that was about to happen that ended up falling apart for all sorts of reasons. ... Maybe it's being a control freak, I don't know, but wanting to be a part of a seed and seeing it turn into something wonderful is exciting. It's fun to explore other areas of our industry other than being an actor-for-hire. It's quite fulfilling," explained Aniston.

In fact, it was the overwhelmingly positive response to it that prompted producers to rush to get it out this year, making it eligible for this current awards cycle rather than risking it getting lost at the beginning of next year's films. No one is likely more surprised by this nomination than Aniston herself. In recent weeks she has gotten a bit giddy just thinking about the fact that people were mentioning that "Cake" could be award-worthy. The actual nomination probably means almost as much as taking home the trophy would for the woman who, at least up until now, has been best known for her role as Rachel Green on "Friends."

The Independent Spirit Awards nomination list is what technically kicks off awards season, and everything from this point on is just another step toward Oscar. Aniston, after months of Hollywood invisibility, has really been hitting the bricks to promote Cake. She has even shown up for various parties that are considered necessary to attend if you want the Academy to take you seriously.

Wintour talked about needing to, at times, make "Vogue" edgy and create some buzz for it to keep up with current pop culture. "I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us. It's very important that people do talk about us. The first celebrity that I put on the cover of "Vogue" was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time, too. It's such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she's part of the establishment." said Wintour in the "Mail.".
