In April 2013, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding were newfound lovers and as happy as ever in the music video for "I Need Your Love." Now, just a year and a half later, things have taken a turn for the worse for the two pop stars... at least in their music video storylines. Today (Nov. 12), Harris and Goulding teamed up again to release the official visual for their new Motion single "Outside," and their relationships have crumbled apart.

The music video, which takes place somewhere in the crummy suburbs, features Goulding and Harris as people in piss poor relationships.

For Harris, there are endless screaming matches, complete with thrown plates, smashed vases and more screaming in each other's faces than anyone really needs. For Goulding, there is an alcoholic, abusive man in her life, who has a penchant for downing liquor and then going for a joy ride on a Motocross bike. This leaves Goulding "Outside" her own home, lamenting her relationship and life while her man is out for a drunken joyride.

The music video isn't quite that straightforward and takes a spacey turn. Objects begin to hover mid-air. It starts with a mirror, which Goulding stares into before it shatters. Plates and motocross bikes hang midair.

Then, the music video takes an even spookier sci-fi turn... while all along it's appeared that Goulding and Harris are in separate bad relationships, it turns out they've been with each other this whole time.

And now they're on the outside.
