The New York City premiere of Cake on Sunday was just one more joyous stop on Jennifer Aniston's recent whirlwind of positive press junkets. Her latest flick is an Indie gem about a grieving woman who is also suffering from chronic pain and for the first time in her life, Aniston's performance is worthy of Oscar buzz. The consensus is that, not only is Cake that good, but so is the actress' appearance in it.

Aniston has called all of the chatter about the potential for an Oscar nomination "flattering" and she confessed to People magazine that she reacts to all of the talk, "awkwardly and stutteringly". She also explains what drew her to this character — one that was so out of her comfort zone — in the first place.

"It was just a wonderfully beautiful story of a woman in extraordinary pain, living through an unthinkable trauma. I also found her quite humorous and quite endearing. You have empathy for the character. That was a challenge for me. How do we tell this story without having everyone hate her? I actually loved her. But the movie has a beautiful way of unfolding itself without giving the story away and allowing the audience to go with the journey as it's being told," said Aniston.

Are you going to check out Aniston's performance in Cake? So many of her previous films have felt like Rachel Green was just on the big screen, it'll be cool to see her in this film, minus the makeup and wardrobe, don't you think? Aniston seems to be in a great place in her life right now. All of her recent interviews have been very light and rather than believing all of the tabloid drama about her life being a mess, it really feels like Aniston has just really figured out how to be private and that has paid off. Do you think the evolution in her personal life has paved the way to an Oscar nod?
