Kendrick Lamar wasn't satisfied merely taking home the big prizes at the BET Hip Hop Awards, and he decided to clean up at BET's Soul Train Awards as well. The ceremony took place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Although the awards show has celebrated more soulful music since its inception in 1987, Lamar's album good kid, m.A.A.d city took home the prize for Album of The Year, as it did at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Last year's winner, Frank Ocean's Channel Orange, is a little more soulful in our minds but what the heck. Good kid was a great album.

There was a little less debate over on the Song of the Year announcement, where the year's best-selling single "Blurred Lines" took home the prize. There's certainly a decent amount of soul music history crammed into the song, and that's not even considering the vocals of Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams. The estate of Marvin Gaye, a performer near the pinnacle of soul culture, has recently sued Thicke and cohorts for allegedly stealing from Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" when making "Lines."

Other winners included Miguel for Best R&B/Soul Male Performer, and Tamar Braxton for Best R&B/Soul Female Performer. Live performances included Jennifer Hudson and T.I., not to mention some throwback hip-hop stars including Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick.

If you didn't catch the event on television, don't worry: you couldn't have. However, the ceremony will air in its entirety December 1 on BET.
