Dave Mustaine has had a bad end to 2014. Weeks after two Megadeth members ditched the band in November, his mother-in-law was found dead. But things seem to be looking up as the New Year looms, according to Mustaine's Twitter account:

Since its inception back in 1983, Megadeth has had 19 musicians run through its line-up, with the only constant member being guitarist and lead vocalist Mustaine.

Drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick dipped out this year.

"Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure fro Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction," Broderick wrote.

Weeks earlier, Broderick had extolled Mustaine's virtues in an interview with Lucas Gordon, who asked Broderick to describe the frontman for fans who had never met him.

"I think, in a way, all of the fans have met him through his music," Broderick said. "You hear his personality in the way he plays and the way he writes. So it's almost like through listening [to Megadeth's music], you do know Dave Mustaine.

"I think he's a man who knows what he wants, and he's very decisive and he wants to get the music across with his vision, and he makes it happen."

So, what will that be in 2015? Odds are, a new album will be officially announced soon. The past four albums have come every two years since 2007, and they have pumped out nine LPs in the past 20 years.
