Usually in an auction of band memorabilia you expect to see a signed album and song lyrics. These will all be part of an upcoming Beatles sale, 'The White Album Auction. But in addition, TracksAuction.com will be selling John Lennon's school records. Specifically, his detention slips, the Telegraph reports.

The sheets come from Lennon's schooling at the Quarry Bank High School for Boys in Liverpool, in 1955 and 1956 when he was a young teen. The auctioneers say the records were saved from a school bonfire in the 1970s.

Lennon's most impressive records show his ability to get three detentions in one day (on two separate instances). Why so many write-ups?

"Fighting in class," "nuisance" and "just no interest whatsoever," were some of the reasons the teachers documented.

This isn't to say Lennon was a complete terror to his teachers and the class. Former science teacher Peter Beech said, ''The sheet is typical of John Lennon, he was an extremely cheeky boy. He did, however, know his limits. In the classroom, if you settled John down, you generally settled the class down."

The auction starts online November 22nd. The finale will be a live online sale on December 1st at 5 p.m.

Those typical band items we were talking about? Well it's called 'The White Album Auction,' so they'll be selling a signed White Album. Also, an unpublished Lennon sketch and Sir Paul McCartney's handwritten lyrics to an unpublished song. The album is expected to sell for £60,000 and £80,000. The detention slips: £2,000 to £3,000.

Even this many years later, Lennon still seems to steal the show compared to the rest of the foursome. Do you agree? Would you go for the detention records, or some other item from The Beatles?
