Joey Bada$$, real name Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, has been in the news over the past few days for all of the wrong reasons. Instead of people focusing of his upcoming album, the Brooklyn rapper has become snared in legal troubles following an incident at Falls Festival in Byron Bay Australia where he allegedly punched a security guard. He looks to right the ship of his public image with a new single preview coming from one our most anticipated albums of the year, B4.DA.$$. Scott took to the BBC radio waves to premiere the song with Zane Lowe, who bestowed the new single "Teach Me" featuring Kiesza, with the title of "Hottest Record In The World."

The tune finds Bada$$ captaining a funky, double-time beat from Pro Era producer Chuck Strangers, who lends his talents on several songs from the album (via This Song Is Sick). New York City duo, ASTR, aid on the instrumental with well-placed, blaring horns. Kiesza provides a catchy hook, crooning in the same manner as she did for Jack Ü on their single together, "Take Ü There."

Bada$$ feeds off of the funky energy provided by Strangers, ASTR and Kiesza and lays down some high-energy verses that flow well over the track. "Teach Me" is an unexpected twist from Bada$$, but shows his versatility and lends itself to heavy radio play.

Joey B has already revealed four singles from the album and this one stands out as one of the most radio-friendly of the bunch.

Outside of the music, he has been embroiled in legal issues as a result of an incident where he allegedly assaulted a security guard at a festival in Australia. Bada$ has posted bail and is continuing to tour around the country, but the issue will follow him for next few months with a court date upcoming on March 9.

B4.DA.$$ will be released on Jan. 20. Stream "Teach Me" via Pro Era below.
