It's been over 11 years since Elliott Smith tragically passed away, and now the "Miss Misery" singer is getting his due with a tribute album. Yesterday (Jan. 7), it was announced that The Avett Brothers' Scott Avett and singer-songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield will be releasing a tribute album for the late Smith, fittingly titled Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith.

The album will be released on March 17, according to Pitchfork. Featuring duets and folksy imaginings of Smith's songs, Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith features some of his biggest hits, including "Between the Bars," "Let's Get Lost" and "Somebody That I Used to Know."

The idea for a tribute album began in 2011 in Concord, North Carolina, though it was slowly completed over the following three years. As Mayfield points out in a promotional video for the album, Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith is all about taking the original melodies and lyrics of Smith's and making them their own.
