T-Pain made his way back into the spotlight this year after proving he didn't need the help of Auto-Tune to sing. He has shifted his focus from making hits to making personal music, and with that comes the release of his upcoming album Stoicville: The Phoenix, which is due out in this year. Ahead of that, however, he will be teaming up with DJ Drama for a new mixtape in the Gangsta Grillz series called "The Iron Way." According to The Fader, the two are currently in the studio putting "the finishing touches" on the effort. The release date for the tape has yet to be announced, but you can view the artwork above.

"New heat coming," T-Pain wrote on Twitter, promising it would be "coming soon."

This isn't the first time the two have worked together. Back in 2012, they joined Yo Gotti and Fabolous on the track "Goin' Down" off Drama's fourth studio album, Quality Street Music.

T-Pain dropped his Lil Wayne-featuring single "Let Me Through" last month. He's previously released the tracks "Stoicville," "Coming Home," "Keep On." Although a full tracklist has yet to be revealed, the upcoming album will be T-Pain's fifth overall, his first studio effort since 2011's Revolver.

The Tallahassee rapper recently sat down with Larry King to talk about his upcoming album.

"Stoicville is more truthful to me," he explained. "It's things that's in my heart instead of trying to make hits... It's not about if people get it or not. It's about if I'm singing from my heart and making lyrics that resonate with me and not just making people dance in the club all the time."

He says that the changes and decisions he's making in his career right now have made him a much happier person.

"I'm much happier," he revealed to King. "I've never been this happy in the music industry in my life."
