The Jay Z-Funkmaster Flex beef has cooled off somewhat, but that does not mean it has gone away entirely. There were some pretty serious accusations thrown out there by Funkmaster Flex, including that Jay Z does not let anybody play Dipset at the 40/40 Club and HOV had used an interview for his website lifeandtimes.com as a rouse to try and get information on building an app. Jay has not commented on the situation yet and probably will not for some time, if ever, as his former manager and business partner Dame Dash discussed the situation in a recent interview, saying that Jay was too corporate to respond.

Dame declined to offer his own opinion on the situation because he knows he cannot be objective due to prior relationships with both men, but he provides some insight into what both men might be thinking.

He thinks Flex was honest in what he said and that what he said is grounded in years of personal experience. When discussing Jay's side of the coin, Dame remarks that HOV is corporate now and being at that level he cannot comment on these types of beefs even if he wanted to. Making more statements would just open up another can of worms and potentially lead people to more behind-the-scenes deals, which would not be in his best interest as a businessman. The beef between Jay and Flex bubbled to the surface when Flex went on a long rant on Hot 97, calling him out for a variety of perceived indiscretions that included the aforementioned app; HOV's website, which Flex deems "trash"; and texting him in all caps.

"Let me be clear, because I read through everything in that email that was sent to me, I don't care about your website," Flex said to Jay on air. "Your website's trash. Y'all can't move with me in this digital space. Maybe if y'all copied everything I was doing with the app, your app wouldn't have crashed the day your album dropped. Don't play with me. I didn't take no sides in that situation. Play me like I'm stupid and you're gonna see a different kind of dude firing off on you. I let you live in this town, don't think I can't ruin you."
