It's kind of safe to say that Fifty Shades of Grey has surpassed the financial hopes of everyone involved with the making of the film. It has made $150 million domestically and another $280 million internationally, making it a runaway success and solidifying those two sequels. We know that actually bringing them to life may not be an easy task because there is so much discord behind the scenes and now it sounds like there's a potentially huge problem brewing. Jamie Dornan, Mr. Christian Grey, himself may not be willing to return to the franchise.

Of course, the actor presumably signed a contract to do all three films just as Dakota Johnson has done for the role of Anastasia Steele, but he may not be willing to honor it. According to a report by Australian NM magazine, "Seemingly the bad reviews and involved sex scenes - he's married to actress Amelia Warner and has a 15-month-old daughter - may be giving the 32-year-old actor cold feet. The magazine quotes an "insider" as saying: "Jamie said the movie would skyrocket his career. He tried to assure Amelia nothing would change but women all over the world now lust after Jamie. She hasn't seen the film and I don't think she will, to be honest. Jamie does not think his performance was bad - instead he blames Dakota and says it wasn't possible to have chemistry with her. He says Dakota gave him nothing to work with." explains the source.

Well, as far as not having chemistry with Johnson goes, we have been hearing from their early days of filming together that it just wasn't there so the thought of muddling through two more films together must be daunting. It's also probably not risking his marriage over, especially if he feels like the results haven't been worth the toll that doing Fifty has taken on his life. If Dornan digs in and refuses to do the sequels it will likely cost him financially and could adversely affect his career.

Do you think that future projects would hesitate in signing him if he backs out of this contract? Do you see Dornan walking away from the role of Christian Grey and the mixed bag of experience that it has brought to him? Do you think that he is the problem with the film or does it all come down to the lack of chemistry that can't be forced? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
