Salma Hayek raised eyebrows last fall when, while being honored as a women's rights advocate she told a reporter that she was not a feminist. Her platform back then seemed to be a little twisted by the press because what she meant was that she was for equality and would support men's rights just as strongly as she does women's rights. Hayek recently sat for a brand new interview and in it, she reconsidered what feminism actually means to her.

While chatting with a reporter for The Gaurdian, Hayek had a lot to say when revisiting the topic.

"I am a feminist because I love women and I am ready to fight for women. I am a feminist because I am proud to be a woman, and I am passionate about making the world a better place for women. I am a feminist because a lot of amazing women have made me the woman I am today. I am inspired by women every day, as friends and as colleagues."

She also had no problem weighing in on the inequality that exists in Hollywood and how women truly have to be fantastic at what they do to even ask to make as much as a man starring in a film. After years in Hollywood, she thinks that the one-sided ideals are ridiculous. "You still have to be a good wife and mother. And now you also have to be skinny, and you have to look 20 when you're 40. It's too much. We need to stop with the crazy expectations, give ourselves a break." explains Hayek.

It's funny because the actress rallies for women to be given a break but the truth is, she'd be bored if she had one for too long. Hayek herself loves a challenge and needs to keep busy which is why she's always popping up in support of different charities in between her crazy work schedule.
