Ludacris is prepping for the release of his ninth studio album Ludaversal. He has been coy about revealing too many details about the album so far, wanting to control the flow of information on his terms, but in a recent interview with Revolt, he unveiled what the album will be based around, how he has managed to stay relevant over the past 15 years and a few collaborators, which include Usher and Big K.R.I.T.

The clip flips back and forth between an interview with Ludacris and short snippets of unreleased Ludacris music, in which we can hear Usher's voice, Big K.R.I.T. and David Banner coming through the speakers.

Luda says that one of the ways he has remained relevant over his whole career is that he has kept his personal life out of his music. He admits that over the past two years his personal life has been an open book to the public and he encourages fans not believe everything they read in the media, but he has been able to use his humor up to this point.

"I strategically kept my personal life out of my music for the sole reason of having longevity in the music industry," he tells Revolt. "Because when you give it all you don't have too much more to talk about or you gotta be making up stuff or you gotta go out and create drama to have something to talk about in your music."

Ludaversal is his most personal album yet, and he wants fans to hold their judgment on what they have heard recently until he tells his story through the album.

The LP is something he has been working on for years and will encompass a lot of his influences with a modern touch. He emphasizes that it will be an album from beginning to end, not just a compilation of singles.

"It's about taking new artists and some of the pioneers and just mixing it all together," he explains. "Because an album needs to sound cohesive from beginning to end."

Ludaversal is slated for release March 31, with Furious 7 hitting theaters just a few days later on April 3. The lead single "Call Ya Bluff" was released late last week.
