The Rolling Stones will represent the UK at Eurovision this year when the European pop music contest heads to Vienna. Maybe just Mick Jagger actually. Er, maybe just a professional Mick Jagger impersonator. Alex Larke, a 35 year-old vocalist for a Rolling Stones cover group, The Rolling Clones, will head to Austria this year for the competition, according to NME.

"I feel incredibly privileged and humbled to be representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, for this massively historic 60th anniversary event," he said to the BBC. "We have a fantastic song and will work as hard as is humanly possible to bring the contest home and make our great nation proud. It's time to get this party started! See you in Vienna!"

If you're not familiar with the bylaws of Eurovision: No, he won't be performing a standard from the Stones' repertoire. The talent competition requires a totally original song be performed, although it doesn't have any rule regarding professional vs. amateur status musicians. So theoretically, the Stones themselves could write a new song and perform (but don't get your hopes up).

Larke won't be performing alone however, as he'll be teaming up with fellow Brit Bianca Nicholas as the electronic pop act Electro Velvet, performing an "uptempo, electro-swing track" titled "Still In Love With You."

If you're a British fan of the Rolling Stones (are there any who aren't? Serious question) on a budget, don't be alarmed: Rolling Clones will continue once Larke is done abroad.

The vocalist also took part in The Voice last year but wasn't picked up by any of the judges. Hopefully the world views him better. He also released a solo album, Larger Than Life, under his own name. You can check out The Rolling Clones below:
