With a new year, comes a new No. 1 single in the UK. Pitbull and Ke$ha's party-friendly track "Timber" marks the first British chart-topper in 2014.

According to Official Charts, the country-infused dance/rap song notches 2014's singles chart with big sales numbers. In what is typically a quiet sales week leading up to the new year, "Timber" debuted with an astounding 139,000 copies in the year's first week.

Though the track was released in the US back in October, it was just made available for sale in the UK last week, leading to the massive sales as "Timber" climbs charts throughout the world.

"Timber" currently sits at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, right behind Eminem and Rihanna's MMLP2 track "The Monster," which has held the top spot for four weeks.

The news of "Timber" hitting No. 1 in the UK follows Ke$ha's shocking announcement that she would be entering rehab for a month to help battle an eating disorder.

Other highlights from the UK chart week include Pharrell's newest single "Happy" falling to No. 2, despite an increase in sales to 108,000 downloads. Avicii's "Hey Brother," Jason Derulo's "Trumpets" and Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You" round out the UK's top five singles.

Meanwhile, "Timber" isn't the only debut on the Official Charts, though it has the most impressive numbers. African musician Fuse ODG's new single "Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)" debuted at No. 14 and Matrix & Futurebound's "Control" arrives at No. 18.
