Two weeks ago, iLoveMakonnen dropped his "Drink More Water 5 (Freestyle)" and announced that he'd be releasing a new mixtape. The tape, which has the same title as the aforementioned freestyle, features guest spots by Gucci Mane, Migos, Rich The Kid and more.
Big GuWop contributed a verse to Makonnen's "I Don't Sell Molly No More (Remix)" featuring Wiz Khalifa. More recently, the two have collaborated on a track titled "Cash Cash."
Back in December, Makonnen re-released his self-titled EP after signing to Drake's OVO Sound imprint.
The new music dropped right before the "Too Much" lyricist headed out on the road. As noted by Complex, DMW5 serves as a precursor to his Loudest of the Loud tour, which kicks off next month. Makonnen will tour alongside fellow ATL rhymer Key! and producer Sonny Digital.
The 13-city tour starts in April in New York City with an already sold out show.
As noted by XXL, the tape will also double as a prelude to Makonnen's highly anticipated debut album which will reportedly feature Drake, Diplo, Rihanna, Skrillex and Snoop Dogg, among many others.
