Kelly Clarkson has always been unabashedly herself, and she's not taking any body shaming lying down. Earlier this year, the "Heartbeat Song" singer got increasing criticism from the media and British TV personality Katie Hopkins over her weight, but Clarkson is all about body positivity in a new interview on Ellen.

Though public attention has been on Clarkson's weight more recently, the 32-year-old mom to River Rose Blackstock is no stranger to criticism on her appearance, saying it goes all the way back to her American Idol days in 2002.

"I was the biggest girl on the show. I wasn't big, but people would call me big," Clarkson said. "People are like, 'I'm so sorry that lady in London was so mean to you.' And I'm like, 'Are you serious?' Like, get in line!"

Clarkson noted that the criticism of her weight doesn't get to her unless it's "someone I like," but she doesn't appreciate the way that it may make her fans feel.

"I think what hurts my feelings for people is when I'll have a meet and greet after the show and a girl whose, like, bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, 'Oh, God!' And they'll say, 'If they think you're big I must be so fat to them.' It's like, you just are who you are. We are who we are-whatever size. It doesn't mean that we're gonna be that forever. That's the thing," she said as she admitted that her weight fluctuates. "Sometimes we're more fit. Like, especially me. I'm such a creative person that I yo-yo. Sometimes I'm more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don't and I'm like, 'I'd rather have wine.'"

And, in typical Ellen fashion, Ellen DeGeneres then gifted Clarkson with just the perfect gift...
