Bad news for Outkast fans: It seems the hip-hop duo isn't working on a new album at the moment after all. The rumors started swirling last week after Queen Latifah, the duo's former manager, appeared on The Howard Stern Show and seemingly confirmed that Andre 3000 and Big Boi were planning on hitting the studio soon.

The exact quote from the show: "They're chilling...They're about to work on a new album."

Latifah backtracked this week, sending a message out via Twitter that denied that she had implicated Outkast in the creation of a new album.

"The rumor mill says I predicted an "OutKast album... except I didn't. Sorry to get twitter a flutter," she typed this week.

So, for now at least, it seems that no new music is on the way from the ATLiens. BUT, who's to say that this isn't all a big cover up?

Think about it: It took Latifah days to tweet a denial, and we as tearing-at-the-bit-journalists can confirm that ourselves and plenty of other reporters were all over that story when it broke. Latifah may have told the truth the first time, gotten word from the label that it was supposed to be a secret, and then did an alright job of burying the rumors.

You may also recall from an interview that Pharrell Williams did back in October that he thought the new Beyoncé album would "probably" come out during 2014. Lo and behold, it came out in November, out of the blue. So if a new Outkast album comes out in the next couple of weeks, we won't be surprised.

Well, we'll be a little bit surprised.
