Major Lazer continues to release new music as the electronic dancehall trio prepare for the release of its upcoming album Peace Is The Mission. The "Lean On" group have been airing their FXX Cartoon, Major Lazer each Thursday night as part of the network's Animation Domination programming block. They created a soundtrack for the show and have premiered new bits of music within each episode. The latest track to get its worldwide debut is the RiFF RAFF-assisted "2 Cups (Double Cup Theme)." To aid the release, Major Lazer unveiled a short music video to go along with the piece that if you have been following along with the TV show, is as trippy as you might expect.

The mix of acid trip and lyric video tells the story of a two cup dose of "Purple Stuff," also known as lean, or codeine with generally Sprite and a jolly rancher. The track is much more hip-hop oriented then the other tracks that have been unveiled for the TV show. This makes sense considering lean's strong connection to rap, notably Southern rap.

"2 Cup" follows up previously shared soundtrack songs "Bass Drop" featuring Andy Samberg as Dr. Nerd and "Weedman," featuring the pitched down vocals of Trinidad James. The rest of the cartoon will continue to feature big names in music and entertainment including Aziz Ansari and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.

The trio also just released a free remix of Stromae's "Ave Cesaria."

"2 Cup" will not appear on Major Lazer's sophomore artist album, Peace Is The Mission. The LP will be released in under a month on June 1. They have already released almost half of the album with tracks like "Night Riders," "Lean On" and "Roll The Bass."
