Ariana Grande is just the latest pop star to fight against rampant sexism in the music industry and pop culture. After facing a slew of backlash in the wake of her break up with her "Best Mistake" collaborator and boyfriend Big Sean, the "One Last Time" singer posted a lengthy note on her Twitter decrying the sexism she has faced.

Grande slammed the media for only asking her about her love life, saying that she has so much more to offer as an artist. "I am tired of living in a world where women are moistly referred to as a man's past, present or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION. I... do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you," she wrote.

The 21-year-old pop star also noted that she comes from a "long bloodline" of female activists, whom she feels like would want her to stand up for herself and her beliefs. Then, she launched into the dichotomy of being a woman who likes sex versus a man who likes sex.

"Gloria Steinem published an article in 1969 title 'After Black Power, Women's Liberation' .... And 46 years later... we're still not quite there yet! If a woman has a lot of sex (or any sex for that matter)... she's a 'slut'. Is a man has sex..... HE'S. A. STUD. a BOSSSSSS. a KING," she wrote.

Grande also noted that she feels more confident in herself now than ever before as a single woman, whereas before she felt like she "constantly had to have a boy by [her] side." She then closed her note by quoting Steinem again.
