Lamar Odom seems to be taking the death of his best friend, Jamie Sangouthai just about as badly as one would expect. While the two had a falling out and had been out of contact for the last year, Sangouthai's apparent Heroin overdose has crushed Odom, who is supposedly leaning heavily on Khloe Kardashian at this time. Odom's devastation was apparent when he took a short flight from Las Vegas to L.A. for Sangouthai's funeral and resorted to using pills and booze to get him through the ordeal.
According to an exclusive report by Radar Online, "Lamar had two shots of vodka and he told the flight attendant 'Vodka and Xanax and I should wake up there,'" an eyewitness told Radar. "And he was talking on the phone and told that person that he took Xanax and took two shots." The 6'10" former LA Lakers player was "not relaxed on the plane," the source said. "He was singing Sade out loud while he was listening to his headphones and he was all over the place," explains an insider.
Sangouthai will be remembered by fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians because he was featured a few times back when Kardashian and Odom's marriage was still on track. We have told you that in recent months the former lovebirds seemed to be taking steps towards a possible reconciliation. Supposedly, Odom is still struggling with some of the addiction issues that drove Kardashian away in the first place. One has to wonder if the death of Sangouthai might somehow be a catalyst that ultimately helps Odom to get clean and sober once and for all?
