Fans hoping for Gucci Mane to be released from prison in July are in for some disappointing news. According to the rapper's lawyer, the rumored release date is false.

Reports recently hit the Web, citing tweets and an Instagram post that GuWop was slated to complete his bid and would be released on July 11. The "Icy" rhymer's lawyer, Drew Findling, told MTV News that the recent update is not true.

"We do not know where that rumor came from, so that's just Internet and social media fabrication," Findling said. "We have no idea where that release date came from because we're still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date."

Although Findling did not deny that Gucci may be granted an early release, he confirmed the rapper will not be coming home next month.

"I can't get into specifics, but we're in the midst of corresponding with the Bureau of Prisons," he added. "I'm trying to iron out a specific release date for him, but that I can tell you that is not his release date. There's nothing formal about that. It's a product of social media."

Gucci Mane has been incarcerated since September 2013.

There is one release date that seems to be set in stone and that's Gucci's forthcoming mixtape, Trapology. He dropped the tape's first single "Born With It" featuring Soulja Boy earlier this week.

As previously reported, Trapology is set to arrive on July 1. In the meantime, take a listen to King Gucci, which he released in May.
