Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie grabbed headlines earlier this week because of rumors that their ten year romance has hit a pretty rocky patch but they are certainly wrapping up the week on a high note. For the first time ever the Hollywood heavyweights were able to arrange a meeting with a totally different kind of power couple, the royals! On Friday, Pitt and Jolie were invited to have tea with Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was an offer that they couldn't refuse and it seems that both couples were really excited about the meeting.

According to Us Weekly, "Middleton and Prince William were 'really excited' about the afternoon tea, with a source adding that the royal couple — who were joined by Prince George — actually waited outside their apartment 1A home to greet the Hollywood royal couple. Naturally the Jolie-Pitts didn't arrive empty handed. A source tells Us the couple brought a special gift for the Duke and Duchess to celebrate the arrival of Princess Charlotte, who was born in May. Everyone got on splendidly. Brad and Angelina spent much longer with the Duke and Duchess than planned. They ended up staying for almost a few hours," explains the exclusive source.

Jolie had been in London this past week for her work on U.K. foreign policy and after years of hoping, the couples were finally able to arrange a meeting. Middleton has apparently been a long time fan of Jolie's, but for awhile there she was reportedly forbidden from associating with the film star in any capacity. Obviously, William changed his mind on that and it sounds like he's probably glad that he did.

Are you surprised to hear of a potential friendship between the royals and Jolie and Pitt? Or does it make sense that these two couples might gravitate towards each other? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
