Free spirit diva with an old soul Janelle Monae continues to fulfill hipster's fantasies! As the dynamic vocalists,' preps for the release of her forthcoming album, The Electric Lady Ms. Monae made her fans happy this Friday with the release of her new single, "Dance Apocalyptic," complete with a video teaser and her album release date. Now the full video is out and Ms. Monaw is donning a new look: long locks and all white?

Ms. Monae radiatea in her long wavy do. The girl who made a name for herself in a pin-up Elvis retro look and a vintage black and white suit is finally coming out of her shell. The fun and hip track has a Jackson Five's feel as Monae's classic voice gives an old school dance feel. When you hear "Dance Apocalyptic," you immediately feel like you have been teleported to a 50's dance show and this is the song that integrated races on TV.

Janelle adds a futuristic appeal to the Andre 3000 "Hey Ya" style video. She shows of her dancing skills and rocks out on stage before zombies invade Atlanta.

Janelle's The Electric Lady will be released September 10. The album will feature include the Erykah Badu-assisted "Q.U.E.E.N.," and Prince and Miguel are expected to feature, as well.
