Vinyl, the HBO drama developed by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter, has released its first teaser on Instagram as the series gears up for a 2016 release.

The plot details are thin, and don't expect to learn too much from the brief clip presented below: There are guitars, there's a bass drum thumping out a simple rhythm and there are brief allusions to lots of money and lots of drugs. In short, it's the type of thing that Scorsese regularly makes, and it's the lifestyle that Jagger is assumed to have lived during the '70s, when Vinyl takes place. The Instagram post with the initial teaser promises more will come at some point this week, so stay tuned.

What we do know: Bobby Cannavale will play a record label president, Richie Finestra (and, more A-list, Olivia Wilde will play his wife). Cannavale has made waves at HBO, where he won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Drama Series for his work on Boardwalk Empire. Winter has a connection to both actor and director, having created and written Boardwalk and was the writer of Scorsese's screenplay for The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Ray Romano and Juno Temple are listed among the other actors involved with the series. The Rolling Stones vocalist was surely a good grab for consulting on historical accuracy, and it seems he took advantage of the director's fondness for his band's music, getting a role for his son, James Jagger, along the way.

If you feel like something's missing from this teaser, we're sure that Scorsese will add "sex" to the "drugs and rock 'n' roll" come the release of the full trailer. No details yet on the final release date for the finished product.
