Ed Sheeran is getting really wild with his new tattoo. On Tuesday (Aug. 11), the "Photograph" singer debuted some of his new ink for his fans, and he's going massive with a big, bold, colorful lion on his chest.

Sheeran showed off the lion ink to his 4.5 million Instagram followers. The massive piece features a realistic looking male lion, complete with a big, hairy mane (to make up for Sheeran's own lack of chest hair, one must assume).

The massive piece was described as painful by Sheeran who wrote "ouch" on the photo, but it's not even complete - he's only halfway done.

 Halfway and ouch

Sheeran also commented how painful the tattoo was on his Twitter, calling out celebrity tattoo artist Kevin Paul for being patient with him as he complained.

The new chest piece must really have hurt Sheeran, because the 24-year-old singer is no stranger to tattoos. He already rocks two full sleeves, including colorful depictions of his single "The A Team," a graffiti-style tribute to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the signs for his albums x and +, a teddy bear for his nickname and plenty more.
