FKA Twigs has surprise dropped her new EP, M3LL155X, with an accompanying 16-minute music video. Earlier this month, Twigs premiered Figure 8” on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio, though gave no release date for her upcoming EP. She said the EP would be called "Melissa," so it seems that’s how M3LL155X is meant to be pronounced. In addition to “Figure 8,” M3LL155X includes four other tracks: “I’m Your Doll,” “In Time,” “Glass & Patron” & “Mothercreep.”

Before she released the entire EP, Twigs premiered “In Time” on Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio 1. She then released M3LL155X alongside an extended music video that includes four of the EP’s five tracks. The 16-minute visual includes the previously-released video to “Glass & Patron,” debuted at the 2015 YouTube Music Awards, which shows Twigs giving birth to a group of dancers.

The new video begins with fashion icon Michèle Lamy dressed up as a terrifying angler fish ("Figure 8"). Twigs then becomes a live sex doll ("I'm Your Doll") and is shown pregnant again whilst undertaking an intense vogue routine ("In Time"), before ending with ”Glass & Patron.” The only song not included in the video is "Mothercreep."

In a press release, Twigs described the video piece as “an aggressive statement against conceptualising the process of feeling pregnant with pain, birthing creativity and liberation.”

The EP was co-produced by Beyoncé collaborator BOOTS as well as Twigs' bandmates Tic and Cyan. M3LL155X was recorded in a “spontaneous creative period” following last year’s critically-acclaimed LP1.
