Fox has responded to the steady rise in viewer ratings for the new hit show Rosewood by increasing the number of episodes and ordering a full season with lead actor Morris Chestnut and newcomer costar Taye Diggs, who's set to join the cast with a couple of guest appearances.

On Friday Oct. 16, the network issued a full season order for the original network series Rosewood, which airs on Wednesday nights just before another hit original series, Empire, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show stars Chestnut, who plays Beaumont Rosewood Jr, one of Miami's top private pathologists who works closely with Detective VIlla, played by Jaina Lee Ortiz, of the Miami police department. Since the show's premiere on Sept. 23, ratings have been "sturdy," according to the site. The first two telecasts totaled 9.1 million viewers and continues to rise on a weekly basis with adult viewers ranging in age from 18 - 49. The 46-year-old lead actor is all smiles and incredibly appreciative of all of the support he and his castmates have been receiving from the show. Various tweets from fans have been flooding his twitter account with admiration for his character on the show.

Chestnut stars on the drama series along with Orange Is The New Black'Lorraine Tossant, The Game'Gabrielle Dennis and soon to be joined by The Best Man's Taye Diggs, who will also play yet another private practice doctor in the Miami area.

According to Vibe, the two actors will work together as best friends yet again as they have in films like, The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday and the forthcoming third installment, The Best Man Wedding. Diggs is set to take on the recurring role of Dr. Mike Boyce, the longtime bestfriend of Dr. Rosewood, and "world-renowned infectious disease doctor."
