ZHU, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Daniel Johns 'Modern Conversation' Released

It is Friday and that means another new track from ZHU. This week he has released a song with Australian folktronic artist Vancouver Sleep Clinic and former frontman of Silverchair Daniel Johns. "Modern Conversation" is the fifth track in ZHU's Genesis Series that has already netted collaborations with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, AlunaGeorge, Gallant and others.

"Modern Conversation" is the most subdued song to appear from the Genesis Series yet. It has the groovy bass lines and plucks that ZHU is known for, but he keeps things pretty mellow with atmospheric synths and pads. He provides his own signature falsetto, while also working alongside Daniel Johns on vocals, who laments the way humans communicate in the modern world. Vancouver Sleep Clinic provide an organic feel to the track with some searing electric guitar.

"Modern Conversation" was teased earlier this week through the generationwhy.com mailing list and then premiered in Australia on the radio via Triple J.

You can stream the track below and purchase it on iTunes.

ZHU does not tour much at all, but the reclusive producer will step out from his Los Angeles studio and play a gig this Halloween in New Orleans for Voodoo Festival. He just did a show at CRSSD Festival last weekend in San Diego.

With collabs alongside Skrillex and recently unveiled Mind Of A Genius labelmates THEY still to be unveiled, ZHU still has plenty in story for his fans with the Genesis Series.

This is the fifth track unveiled in the Genesis Series. He has already shown remarkable diversity in his selection, working with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Trombone Shorty on their track "Hold Up Wait A Minute." He then collaborated with A-Trak and Keznamdi to create a reggae-infused single "As Crazy As It Is."
