R&B artist on the rise, The Weeknd, has gotten acclimated to life in the spotlight after seeing wild success from his smash hits "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face." One thing he didn't bargain for, however, was Taylor Swift petting and stroking his hair the first time they met, which was at a Grammy party.

The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, recently detailed the story of his first moments spent with the "Wildest Dream" singer at Sam Smith's Grammy Party. Tesfaye made a previous decision that month to stop drinking although he was in the midst of alcohol and tipsy celebrities, Swift apparently being one of them as she groomed a sober Tesfaye for nearly 15 minutes, Mashable reports.

"The whole time she was talking she was kind of, like, petting my hair?" he told Rolling Stone of Swift. "I think she was just drawn to it - she must have been a little gone off a few drinks. And of course I'm not going to be like, 'Hey, can you stop?' I mean, it felt good! But when she started petting my hair, that's when I was like, 'I definitely need a drink.'"

Along with stroking his hair, the 25-year-old pop star admitted she was a huge fan of The Weeknd's music, leaving him surprised. "She actually schooled me on my own sh*t," he explained. "She was like, 'I've been listening to "The Morning" [from House Of Balloons] for years - it's one of my favorite songs ever!' I mean, she might have just Googled it. But she seemed genuine." During Taylor Swift's celebrity-ridden 1989 tour, The Weeknd teamed up with the "Bad Blood" singer for a performance of his drug-infused track "Can't Feel My Face."

The "Often" singer's trademark hairdo comes with the intent to be remembered as "iconic and different." The singer plans to cut it if it starts blocking his view but otherwise, he's going to rock the style.  He'd rather not be boring and "look like everyone else."

Earlier in the year, the Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness album spiked straight to the Number One slot on the Official UK Album Chart. The LP, which boasts musical collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Labrinth and Lana Del Rey, trails his first solo album Kiss Land.
