Everyone knows that Quentin Tarantino can get a bit feisty. Whether it is spats with the  paparazzi or his recent clash with police, he has never been known to silence his opinions. It was reported that Tarantino called cops "murderers" and repeatedly "fired up the crowd," 11 of whom were arrested. The incident sparked controversy over Tarantino's remarks and the limits on law enforcement criticism. However, it also put a spotlight on the deep anger felt by many in the "Black Lives Matter" movement and others who feel the police have crossed the line. On Friday, Quentin Tarantino discussed his recent protest at Washington Square Park and the current state of law enforcement in the United States with Bill Maher on Real Time With Bill Maher.

Bill Maher states that he believes the media lied about his controversial post 9/11 Joke, and compares the situation to that of Quentin Tarantino in recent days. According to the NYPost, Taratino said in a statement, "When I see murder, I can't stand by. I have to call the murderers the murderers." Bill Maher feels that the media unfairly equated this to the universal labeling of police officers as murderers, which Tarantino vehemently rejects.

When asked to defend himself, Tarantino replied, "Now we're actually talking about the problem...they're saying that I'm a cop hater...which is slander 'cause I didn't say that... and they're implying that I meant that all cops are murderers. And I wasn't. But the thing that's really sad about this it is, we actually do need to talk to the cops about this."

Tarantino also states he is "looking in his mirror again" in reference to his revitalized fear of law enforcement. Tarantino also asserts that in today's world, any person displaying aggression against a police officer "would be shot" on sight. He said that as kids in the 70's, they (Tarantino and his friends) got into scuffles with law enforcement all the time, and no one ever thought to pull out a gun.

The discussion went on to cover the crucial issue of "weeding out bad cops" and making sure that aggressive, unruly men and women are not allowed to wear the uniform.
