Bridget Jones is back again and this time, Ed Sheeran and a baby will be joining her. In the latest installment of the series, trailing 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary and 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, comes Bridget Jones's Baby. The X singer will make an appearance in the film starring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer took to Instagram on Monday to tell fans that he spent the day filming his latest cameo. "Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie," Sheeran wrote. "Loved it, you're gonna love it too."

Last month, rumors started to circulate concerning Sheeran's involvement in Bridget Jones's Baby after film crews were seen filming at one of his gigs. The impending film began shooting in London and although it will not include the return of Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver, it will see the reprisal of Colin Firth as Mark Darcy, Entertainment Weekly reports.

This isn't his first stint on the big screen. Sheeran has previously appeared on television shows like Undateable and he made his official acting debut earlier in the year on Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter's latest venture. Although Sheeran has a sweet and friendly disposition, the singer took on a role of Sir Comac, the dark assistant to a Church leader on the gory FX series, The Bastard Executioner. He even made an order for a third man to brutally cut out a prisoner's eye. After only one season, Sutter himself pulled the plug on the show himself after it received extremely poor ratings.

The Ginger Bread Man Records owner, however, passed up a chance to cameo on HBO fantasy-drama series Game of Thrones due to conflicting schedules.

Bridget Jones's Baby is slated for release in theaters on Sept. 16, 2016.
